Pete Seeger was an iconic American Folk singer, writer of songs, collector of songs and political protester. He was born in Manhattan in 1919 and lived to be 94 still writing songs. He was called “America’s Tuning Fork” by poet Sandberg. Famous songs include Where Have All The Flowers Gone? Little Boxes, Turn! Turn! Turn! and he popularized We Shall Overcome
