1997: Eaton’s Coin and Stamp department Vancouver
Helped Dan clear out his storage in the basement of the Georgian Club, once a bank. The bulk of items stored there were Leonard Frank postcards and Royal Hudson Train cinderella stamps, which are 50 years old this year.

Canada Post issued the first Lunar New Year stamps which proved popular with their target market. Sales of Hong Kong and China stamps grew as Hong Kong was handed over to China by Britain. EBay and the internet began to change our hobby forever

The Lasqueti Mint began operating. Tolling Jennings’ marijuana themed medallions were ahead of their time.

The Royal Canadian Mint issued the best $200 gold coin by Robert Davidson.

Eaton’s filed for bankruptcy protection putting me on alert. Princess Diana memorial stamps were issued by Royal Mail and were the next best selling stamps after Elvis.
