The lower left margin unused example resurfaced recently in the Brewery Collection, formed in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and is one of about 65 examples known. The stamps were withdrawn from sale and were supposed to be destroyed when Queen Victoria complained that New Brunswick postmaster Charles Connell issued the stamps bearing his locally popular, but non-Royal, image. Connell passed on some examples to his daughters and friends, luckily for the stamp world.
