Canada’s first postage stamp – the 1851 3d Beaver – was designed by Sir Sandford Fleming, a luminary Scottish Canadian engineer and inventor. Famously Sandin invented worldwide standard time. He was also a surveyor, map-maker, transcontinental railway engineer, business entrepreneur and much more.
