According to the back of the Canada Post Saskatchewan Roughriders Centenary commemorative cover issued July 6, 2010, what was then known as the Regina Rugby Club, began on 13 September 1910. 20,000 of the souvenir envelopes were issued by Canada Post.

The limited edition envelope – one of only three topics chosen this year by Canada Post - is now available at post offices across the country. The envelopes feature the Riders historical logos plus images of Rider heroes of the past century

“The Riders Centennial provides a unique opportunity for fans across the province and throughout the country to participate in the celebrations and we are proud to highlight this event with a commemorative envelop,” said Jim Phillips, Director of Stamps Services at Canada Post.

“We are proud and honoured to be considered by Canada Post with this unique collector’s item as part of our celebration of our first 100 years”, stated Roughrider President/CEO Jim Hopson. “We see this as another exciting way to bring Canada’s team to Rider fans across the country.”

The Canada Post envelope is an example of one of the key themes of the Rider’s Centennial by focusing on its heritage through the display of various players over the first hundred years.

In celebration of the Saskatchewan Roughriders' centenary, the Royal Canadian Mint is proud to join the Saskatchewan Roughriders in officially unveiling a new commemorative one-dollar circulation coin honouring this legendary team and its generations of loyal fans.

The coin will enter general circulation beginning September 3, 2010, following the public unveiling of the coin at Regina's Northgate Mall. A public coin exchange will immediately follow the unveiling. The Mint is delighted to give the many supporters of Rider Nation a unique means of celebrating their team's 100th birthday and the great traditions of Canadian football.

Brian Grant Duff at All Nations sells the limited edition Saskatchewan Roughriders covers for $5.99 each. All Nations will offer the Saskatchewan Roughriders commemorative dollar coins as soon as they are available.
